Can you believe we are in June already? Before you know it people will be talking about Christmas!!
Anyway less of that nonsense for the time being and let’s focus on what’s been happening in my first full month here at My Eclectic Reads.
First up I’ve got to say that I’ve loved every minute of of the time I’ve spent on my blog. I’ve connected with loads of new people and have been joining in with a lot of the memes organised by other bloggers.
I think I’m finally getting the hang of everything and over the next couple of weeks will be making some slight tweaks to my blog as I put my own mark on things.
I’ve got some fab ideas for some new features in the coming months so please stick around. I am planning some changes over on my bookstagram so I’d love it if you could come and join me over on Instagram.
During May I have posted a total of 31 times including 9 book reviews, 1 book tag as well as joining in on 17 memes.
My reviews were The Spookshow (Spookshow #1) by Tim McGregor; Presidential Shift (Corps Justice #4) by C G Cooper; My Beautiful Disaster: Part 1 by J D Hughes; My Beautiful Disaster: Part 2 by J D Hughes; Breathless by Nicola Claire; No Kiss Goodbye by Janelle Harris; The Roses of May by Dot Hutchison; Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles and finally my Sunday Shorts.
My three most viewed posts have been First Chapter ~ First Paragraph (May 16); Stacking the Shelves #1 – April Books and This Week In Books: 18.05.17.
While my personal favourite posts have been 6 Degrees of Separation: From The Slap to Trust Me; The Social Media Book Tag; Searching Saturday: Unknown Books
May hasn’t been the best month as far as my reading is concerned and I have only managed to get through 6 books, which is down 6 from the 12 I read in April.
I had expected to read more during my holiday but for one reason or another I only managed to read one during my week I was away.
- Breathless (Scarlet Suffragette #2) by Nicola Claire
- Roses of May (The Collector #2) by Dot Hutchison
- Did You Whisper Back? by Kate Rigby
- Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles by J M Sullivan
- Alice in Brexitland by Lucien Young
- Shadows by Conrad Jones
My favourite book of the month has to be Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles by J M Sullivan. It was totally outside my comfort zone, yet I loved it and will definitely be reading more from this author.
Despite having a rubbish month this month I’m actually doing quite well overall on my reading challenge for this year.
One thing I have been slacking with is my own personal challenge to read more books outside my usual genre and I will be sharing my current status with this very soon.
It’s no wonder I struggle to get through my TBR list when I add this many books throughout the month.
Out of the 21 books I’ve added there are 6 from NetGalley and one ARC for a book tour. The rest are made up of books I’ve downloaded from BookBub, my Kindle First choice or purchased myself.
So that’s how May looked for me and I hope is was as good for you. Here’s hoping June treats us just as well.
