Mythical Creatures: The End of an Era

It’s a very sad day for book lovers as the The Stationery Geekette has closed the pages on her Bookclub Box. So today I will be sharing with you the contents of the very final box.

Mythical Creatures

I’ve loved my monthly box goodies from Emma and this month has been no different. She has definitely gone out on a high!

This months book choice was The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent. It’s a YA fantasy/paranormal story and looks really good. I’ll be adding it to my August TBR assuming I can find the time to read anything with the kids being off school.

Moving on we have a gorgeous candle, made by the amazing Emma herself under her new guise of Geekette Creations. The Dragon Blood candle smells amazing and has a gorgeous glittery coating. I’ve currently got it in my office with the lid off as I don’t want to light it just yet but love the smell. I believe these will still be available over on the group.

Next up we have a selection of planner stickers from Mix and Match Planner’s Something Magical range. The stickers are beautiful and will be finding their way to my planners in the coming weeks. As usual there is a really good selection of stickers and there will definitely enough for several weeks worth of spreads.

Mythical Creatures - Stickers

Keeping with the stationery aspect there is a super cute little dragon paperclip by Little Dragon Jewellery.

The other items in the box included a bookmark by Jessica Scissorhands, a mermaid postcard by Papiopress, a feather card and a gorgeous dragon necklace.

Everything in the box is amazing and this is definitely one of my favourite boxes. It’s a shame to see them go, but I believe there will be special edition box in time for Christmas.

Thanks for reading,

Searching Saturday: Authors with a B

Searching Saturday is a bookish scavenger hunt hosted by Nikki from The Night Is Dark And Full Of Books. The aim is to find a book (or books) that are new to you and fit in with the weekly theme.  This week’s topic is authors whose surname begins with the letter B.

Bringing it back! I really enjoyed the “Authors with an A” topic in February so we are continuing with it. Search for books of which the authors LAST name starts with an B.

As this is my first Searching Saturday post and a little spontaneous I have decided to search my Goodreads TBR list and see what books I have that fit the criteria.

The Books I Found

These six books are all on my TBR list and are by new to be authors. Some have been there for a while (It Had To Be Him) while others are recent additions (Lost Library).

From the covers above, and what I can briefly remember from the synopsis, I’m most looking forward to reading The Promise and Lost Library.

The Promise by Alison Bruce

The cover of this is pretty appealing to me as it is reminiscent of the kind of books I tend to go for (mystery/thriller).

Fate of Perfection by K F Breene

I’ve had this book on my TBR pile for a while now. It was part of The Stationery Geekette’s Bookclub Box a couple of months back. It’s not my usual genre and I made the mistake of checking out some of the reviews beforehand which might explain why I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.

Jet by Russell Blake

The cover of this book isn’t all that appealing to me. However I reviewed the blurb again and overall the story looks pretty interesting. Definitely one to be moved up my TBR pile.

It Had To Be Him by Tamra Bauman

I have had this on my Kindle since mid 2016!! If I’m honest I think that the cover is part of the reason I’ve not read it already. That and the fact that it’s not my usual choice.

I’m thinking that it might be time to remove it, although I may give it a reprieve for the rest of the month as it could be a bit of light-hearted holiday reading. That said if I haven’t looked at it again by the time I come back, it will be going.

Murder on the Mind by LL Bartlett

Another book that has been on my Kindle for a while. However this one is more my taste so will be sticking around for a while yet. I quite like the cover, although I’m not sure it gives much away about the book itself.

Lost Library by Kate Baray

I’ve been expanding my reading horizons recently and this book caught my eye. I’m slowly starting to get into books with a paranormal/fantasy theme and this one fits the bill nicely. That and the cover is intriguing.

So there we have my first Searching Saturday.

What do you think of my selection? Have you read any of them?
